At 10.2 inches and 300 ppi, the Paperwhite display tech here is the same frontlit, flush-glass Carta 1200 E-Ink panel found in premium Amazon hardware — not a lower-spec panel upsold by screen size. The included Basic Pen (with a Premium Pen upgrade available) uses electromagnetic resonance rather than active Bluetooth, meaning no charging the stylus. That's a meaningful hardware choice the reMarkable 2 also makes, and it's the right one.
